Hani Aman, CEO of the eastern smoke company "eastern company", said that the company is still selling Cigarettes by 24 pounds, denying the company's increase in prices.
He added during a telephone intervention on the "last of the day" program, through the "An-Nahar" channel, and presented by Dr. Mohammed al-Baz, that traders used to stock up on cigarettes near the beginning of the new fiscal year in June, because they expected the government to approve a tax increase on cigarettes.
He explained that the market share of the eastern smoke company in the local market is from 70% to 75%. He pointed out that a large part of the cigarette dealers in "Bab al-Bahr" are not registered with the company, pointing out that they collect cigarettes from the market to store them in order to control prices.
He also pointed to another procedure, which is to communicate with the regulatory authorities all the company's sales, lists, prices, merchants and quantities supplied to them in order to monitor the markets, expecting that these measures will return cigarettes to official prices, or at least be higher than the official price by about 4 pounds at most.
