Hani Aman, president of eastern smoke eastern company, revealed that the company's Board of Directors decided during a meeting held today to increase the company's production of cigarettes to 150 million cigarettes (an average of 7.5 million packs of cigarettes) to eliminate the current deficit caused by supply chains and some logistical problems, instead of the current production of 100 million cigarettes at an average of 5 million packs Starting tomorrow, Thursday.
Aman said in statements to Cairo 24 that the decision aims to address the manipulation of prices by traders, and that production will continue to increase according to a specific plan until the current crisis related to the manipulation of prices by traders is eliminated by increasing them.
Aman stressed that there is no increase in cigarette prices by the company.
The eastern smoke company had confirmed in a previous statement that the prices of its cigarette products have not changed, according to the latest prices announced by the company, including the most widespread Cleopatra cigarettes, which currently cost 24 pounds per pack from the company to the consumer.
The eastern company recommended in its statement that the codes for its products printed on all cigarette packs should be used to inquire about the selling price to the consumer, as the official and correct price, and that the prices traded in the market are unofficial prices.
Philip Morris Egypt also renewed its commitment to cooperate with the Egyptian tax authority to support the Egyptian consumer in the face of any attempt to manipulate the prices of its products and destabilize the Egyptian market and the tobacco industry by supporting the state treasury with tax revenues as a result of the sale of original products at their established prices.
Earlier this year, Philip Morris Egypt added the QR code on all its products, which would display the price list of traditional cigarettes and the company's heated tobacco products.
